Signed "A. Marais" for Adolph Charles Marais (1856-1940), a well listed French artist known for his rural landscapes. Marais exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1876 to 1881. (A painting by Marais was sold in Buenos Aires in November 2000 for $27,000.) The signature, age and authenticity are fully guaranteed by the Library Antiques and are authenticated by art historian, MA Birgitte de Roepstorff. Oil on board.
