We have recently acquired a collection of 19th century English shoe form shuff boxes of the highest quality from a major estate in New York City. They are highly unusual both in the quality of the work and in their condition.

A wonderful piece in wood with brass pique eyelets and decoration both on the toe and the bottom of the heel. The name "H. Bishop" is picked out in pique work on the lid and on the inside of the lid is the following dedication: "Presented to H. Bishop as a token of respect on the 31st of March, 1858 by J. Staples." Beautifully shaped, with a cross-hatched design on the sole. In excellent condition with a beautiful patina.
