Description:
A wonderful piece of Japanese bronze casting. One side of the burner shows a scene of a bird over the ocean watching a lizard or a fish with legs emerge from the waves. The opposite side has a more bucolic scene of two birds and a bee among pussy willows. The removable top shows an eagle in a Japanese pine tree looking intently at a crab emerging from waves. The smoke from the incense inside the burner would drift out from artfully concealed spaces between these waves. The detachable handles are in the form of branches and leaves. The entire piece is crafted with amazing detail and precision.
