Description:
This pair of small chests is carved of ju-mu (elm) and duan-mu (linden) woods. The front panel of each shows a pair of foo dogs guarding a precious jewel, signifying prosperity. Beautifully made, using only mortise and tenon work and no nails, the top of each box lifts out or can be locked with a 19th century hook style key.
