It has not been glued or altered in any way so that the table can be disassembled as was originally intended. This recessed-legged table has flat top, unmitred bridle joints, a low stretcher and a carved panel between the legs. The large table would have been placed in the center of a room to divide the formal from the informal. One apron has simple carving in the early Ching style; the other apron is classic and unadorned.
